A possible paper, metal or other processor should explain the specific process and customer base through its own records. Material grade, conversion cost and supplier adjustments can alter cash generation. An established business may also need to review assets that are no longer productive or a negotiated solution to legacy obligations.
Separate running needs from legacy claims, with evidenced repayment for new money.
Weight, grade and price can change the cash requirement
Metal and recycled-input transactions need more detail than aggregate purchase and sales values. A processor may face supplier grade adjustments and a different basis for customer settlement on the finished output. Reconcile weighment, grade adjustments, processing yield and final settlement terms. Examine how price movements flow through the customer contract. Funding should be assessed against the borrower’s actual margin and stock ownership, with no assumption that gross material value represents available repayment cash.
A renewal problem needs a cause, not just a deadline
An approaching limit expiry can reflect missing information, changed performance or unresolved terms. A limit renewal may be pending because current stock, financial records or debt explanations are incomplete. List the exact items outstanding and the authority needed to resolve them. Separate documentation work from an increase in genuine funding need. A temporary bridge should have a supportable exit and should not assume that an unsigned renewal will necessarily be sanctioned.
Asset value and enterprise value serve different decisions
A property or machinery valuation does not establish what a running business can repay. An unused asset can have a sale value while the running business still needs a separate viability and cash-flow assessment. Compare sustainable earnings, maintenance needs, transfer restrictions and the costs needed to continue operations. Use separate assumptions for an asset sale and a going-concern transaction. This helps directors assess whether refinancing, a business sale or a negotiated settlement best fits the facts.
